I LOVE MY HUSBAND
The Cunningham's
Est. 2003
I have been wanting to put a shout out to my wonderful husband. To thank him for all he does. He takes incredible care of our sons, and of me. He has no qualms about baby laundry, diapers, tub-scrubbing, house-cleaning or bottle washing, for which I am eternally grateful. Sure, we have our days when stress, bills or babies get the best of us. Days when we aren't clicking, but we always work to make it right, or at least laugh about it.For instance, yesterday I came home super grouchy & hungry. He left for class. I was doing laundry, playing with babies, making dinner, etc. when I went to put my shoes in the bedroom only to find that Logan had bit a HOLE in my SHOE. I called Josh' cell phone cracking up. We don't have two babies, we have two puppies! He laughed & we both felt better.
Our marriage has certainly not gotten easier since the boys were born, but it has gotten stronger. And I expect it will continue to do so. I am thankful to have such a capable partner for myself & such an incredible father for my sons.
I love you, baby!

Today Josh got his braces off!!! He surprised me. When he came home from class he walked into the kitchen where I was cooking dinner smiling a huge smile. I could not believe my eyes! His teeth are so straight & so perfect. He looks so handsome!
SLEEPING THROUGH THE NIGHT
I thought twice before posting this blog for fear that I would jinx myself. But I just had to share the good news with everyone. The boys (yes, that means BOTH BABIES) are sleeping through the night. THREE delicious nights in a row they have slept from 8pm to 6:30am. I am one well rested woman.
Aren't they just precious?

MY LIFE NOW...
This time last year I was 31 weeks pregnant, my sister was moving away to California, and I was praying to hold on at least three more weeks to the babies growing inside my belly. I had time to journal daily. I had time to watch as much Jon & Kate Plus 8 as I could stand. I only had to feed myself, dress myself & worry about myself.
Now I am a mother of two.
And I am a different person.
Words can't to express how much being a mother changes you. I was telling Josh the other day that I haven't had a bath since before I was pregnant. I used to take baths all the time. Light the candles, pour the bubbles & hand me a good Nora Roberts novel. That's my kind of night. Then I got pregnant & you can't take a HOT bath for fear of "baking" the baby early on, or something like that. Then I was too big to climb back out of the tub anyway. And finally, I was recovering from my c-section and following gallbladder removal surgery, so baths were out then as well.
Now the bath tub is completely full of baby bath seats, rubber ducks, stacking cups and Johnson & Johnson's No More Tears shampoo. Where exactly did my lavender bubble bath & coordinating candles go???
I am sure if I had the time to clean the house I would find them. Somewhere.
I digress.
My point is that looking back on my pregnancy gives me a glimpse of how far I have come. My life used to be about taking care of myself & my husband. Now nothing is more important than my boys. I have been blessed with the awesome responsibility of raising two young men alongside Josh. And it's a responsibility that equally excites & scares me.
Every time I think that we're done with one stage, another (more difficult, or at least different) stage presents itself. Example: They began to love tummy time (hooray!) only to then begin crawling (and getting into all my things- boo!).
This parenting business keeps you on your toes!!!

BOTTLES, DISHES & BABIES, OH MY!!!
SATURDAY MORNING WITH MY BOYS
When the boys woke up at 6:30am on Saturday morning (insert sympathy here) I asked Josh if he wanted to sleep in on Saturday or Sunday, hoping he would say Sunday. He muttered, "Today." I told him that I must love him VERY MUCH to let him sleep in seeing as I hadn't slept all week thanks to teething babies. He promised he would love me Sunday & let me have my turn sleeping in.
Honestly, though, once I am awake, it's always fine. I got a lot done, and the boys are so happy in the morning.

CAN YOU SAY DIMPLES?
I just can't get enough of the boys' dimples.
Here Jack's are on display.
Oh, and those bottom teeth are pretty cute, too!

A WALKING MOMMY
So, as most of you know, I am working on losing some weight. When I realized that the boys' birthday was only two months away, I decided that I would use that eight weeks (and the motivation of not being FAT in all the pictures) to propel myself on my diet & exercise routine. My favorite workout? Walking along the waterfront to the landbridge. And let me tell you: pushing fifty pounds of baby/stroller/diaperbag is a SERIOUS workout!
The above photo is my "We made it!" picture, taken from the top of the landbridge over Hwy 14.
