Saturday morning is my morning to get up with the bubs.Josh sleeps in. Or at least he's supposed to.This weekend the boys were so squealy, he woke up.Sorry, Daddy!
Even though it was loud, we were having fun!
Jack has learned how to play ball.
If you roll it to him, he can throw it back to you.
Such a big boy!
Besides playing ball, the boys played with the extra gate.
Jack especially loves the gate.
Despite the lack of sleep on my mornings to get up with them, I look forward to it everyday. We wake up, eat a leisurely breakfast of Similac Formula, watch some cartoons, and play in our jammies as long as we please. They are so happy when I walk into the nursery in the morning, giggling in delight as I approach their cribs. How could I not look forward to that?!?
Fifteen pounds lighter
This time last year I was 35 weeks pregnant. I had started snoring (very sexy, I know) and Josh had to sleep on an air mattress in the living room to get some rest. (At the time he was working full time & going to Clark College full time.) I was craving red meat (which I couldn't have because of my gallbladder) and drinking Slurpees like there was no tomorrow. I was past my GOAL which had been 34 weeks, and was feeling confident that the boys would be born healthy.I am very nostalgic and the last few days I have been looking back at the end of my pregnancy via the journal I kept, the week by week photos, and the photos from our first few weeks with the babies. I just can't believe how quickly it all went by. I miss their fuzzy backs, their red hair, and their brand new baby cries. I don't miss waking up every three hours around the clock, not being able to hold them both at once when they so desperately needed me, and second guessing myself. Their growth is easier to see than mine, but I have been growing right along with them. I have been working on becoming a more confident mommy. A mommy who knows her priorities, holds on to her expectations & lets no one make her feel bad about choices she's made in her childrens' best interest. It's been a lot of work, but totally worth it.~
Logan & Jack testing out the bench in Nanny's backyard.
Aren't they just yummy? I want to eat their chubby thighs!
I have been very busy & exhausted the last week, hence the late posting of our Seattle trip last weekend. Logan is working on two teeth (numbers three & four on the top) and Jack has had a cold that just won't quit. On Wednesday I was at Day 8 of NO SLEEP. I was less than pleasant, and I (honestly) think I even fell asleep for a little minute while on the freeway headed to pick up the boys after work. Finally (!!!!) last night they slept from 7:45pm to 7:30am. I am a different girl today, let me tell you!
Their first birthday is coming up (in two weeks) and I am feeling really sad. I know I should just feel grateful that we survived it, and happy that (for the most part) things should get easier, or at least be a different kind of hard. But instead I find myself not even wanting to finalize the details of their party because that would mean admitting my precious baby boys are twelve whole months. And I'm not ready.
Remember when they would fall asleep in my arms? Remember when I could bathe them in the sink? Remember when I could wear them both in my baby-wearing Moby? Remember when they would sleep together, bundled in their swaddlers, making sweet little newborn noises?
It seems like it all passed so quickly. I just need some more time to adjust. More time to enjoy them and their baby-ness.
Can I get an Amen?

Me with one of my two BFF's named Lisa from work. She was a LIFE SAVER in the fall, always coming to help me with the boys when Josh was gone in class at night. Love her!
Lisa's son Nick, her husband Jeff & her.
During the rally my dad went and bought a shirt. Here he is sporting it. Unfortunately, it did not work. :(
We had a blast regardless of the loss. We ate peanuts, hot dogs & soda, as any ball game attendee should. We took pictures, screamed, clapped & rooted our hearts out! Josh & my dad were pleased (to say the least) with this surprise Father's Day gift.
Josh's sister Laura also joined us and we had so much fun, her and I, giggling the WHOLE way home. She even convinced me to lick my Big Red gum wrapper & put it on my forehead. Try it & let me know how it goes. :)
