Christmas Eve

For Christmas Eve we spent the evening with Josh's parents. Despite how many siblings Josh has (seven!) we were the only ones there. I told Josh he got his lifelong wish- to be an only child! (I was only joking, though. Josh is extremely close to all his siblings. And I don't think he has ever actually wanted to be an only child.)
On the road...
Logan

Jack

Snack at Grandma's- a banana. Jack's new thing is to eat bananas, but he always wants the peel. He eats like a big kid!

Meanwhile, Logan was eating Goldfish crackers. He decided to share with his brother.

Jack kept going to the gate and pointing to Wilbur, Grandma's cat, and signing "cat, cat, cat". Wilbur preferred to keep his distance.

He also did some casual reading. (I love how he's lounging on the couch!)

Logan played on this fun toy with Daddy.

And tried to get some of Grandma's books off her shelf.

I told him no, and he laughed like, "I wasn't really going to get them mom!"

They played with a new cash register Grandma got them with Papa. It was really cute. After playing and eating dinner the boys got to open their one Christmas Eve present. It was a huge red Radio Flyer wagon for the boys! We are super excited to use it this summer when we go camping.
Then we headed home to wait for Santa!

The "original" Car Seats

Logan & Jack
{4 days old}

When Roxanne found out she was pregnant, I offered her one of our two old infant seats. At my mom's birthday party on Wednesday she took Ferris out, and my boys got in.

My how they have grown:

nothing but kisses for ferris

{Jack kissing Ferris}
As soon as Roxanne came in the door they boys wanted the baby. She set the car seat on the floor & the kisses began!

{Logan kissing Ferris}

I swear we don't tell them to do this.
They {especially Jack} just move in for the kill-
with smacking sounds & everything!

Even once she pulled Ferris out of his car seat, Jack couldn't stop kissing him. It just melts my heart as a mommy. And it makes me really excited to add another member to our family someday. The boys will make amazing big brothers.

Jack just wanted to be with Ferris, wherever he was.

Tonight Nanny even let Jack hold Ferris "all by himself" and he was so proud!

Logan LOVES cake

Nanny & Papa bought the boys a slide to climb & play on when they are at their house. They LOVE it! It made the birthday party so much fun for them!

Logan's turn!

When they would ride down the slide they would say "Whee!"
So cute!

We were so happy to spend the evening with Nanny, Papa, Aunt Roxanne, Uncle Blake & Cousin Ferris. {Plus Isaiah (my nephew's) grandma Aniko!} We just ate pizza, had cake & ice cream and enjoyed each other's company. I love Christmas break for this very reason. Just lots of time to chill and catch up with everyone.
Can't wait for Christmas Eve!

Oh man.

We aren't moving.
I just meant (in the previous post) that it LOOKS like we're moving because it's such mess all the time!
Someday {in a little land called "shelly's fantasy"} we will live in a house, with a yard, no mice under the sink, a washer that doesn't leak, a bathroom that's insulated and a dining room that can actually host a table & all FOUR chairs around it.
Until then I am determined to {try and} be thankful for the roof over our head.
Even if it is a small roof!

my life...

...is changed.

These little boys.
Who are becoming BIG boys.
{Oh my.}
See this little trick?
Stacking cups, trucks, baskets-
anything becomes a convenient stepping stool so the boys can CLIMB up on the furniture.

Here is Jack making the trek from the couch to the scrapbook table.
He is feet off the ground, and SO determined.
-
They are brave.
Fearless.
And when they fall,
they fall HARD.

My life is a different life with CLIMBING toddlers in my home.
The chairs are stacked on the table.
The decorations are locked up in the cupboard.
The drawers are bungied shut.
The baby gate is flipped around.
{because they FIGURED OUT how to open it from the other side!}
It looks like we are moving.

This place is growing smaller by the minute;
And their are getting BIGGER by the second!
