of a mom with two kids,
a full time job
& a husband in school full time:
5:51am Roll over & look at my clock. Why? Why do I wake up before the alarm goes off?
6:16am Tell Josh that it's time for him to get up.
6:22am Lie in bed listening to Jack yell "bonk!" "bonk!" in his crib in his room.
6:30am Get up, go in the nursery, turn on the light and watch my boys blink into the brightness. Logan says, "Daddy shower" and Jack says, "Mom up". I pick up one or the other (no rhyme or reason, just whoever feels right at the moment) and rock them for a minute in the rocking chair. In the morning I get some pretty good snuggles, especially from Jack.
6:40am Set the boys up in front of Between the Lions in the living room so I can shower next. Thus begins the destroying of the living room.
7:30am Showered, dressed, make up on, bed made, hair done, jewelry on, bathroom tidied, and kids in high chairs eating cereal with milk in bowls (like big kids) or having waffles (with peanut butter & syrup) or having raisin toast (my personal favorite). Stand and eat my own breakfast while monitoring the food throwing in the kitchen.
7:50am Grandma Carol shows up if it's her day, or we load the car & head to Nanny's house.
8:20am Whether dropping the kids off or leaving them with Carol, I hit the road and head to work. Listen to some JoDee Messina for a happy heart on the drive in.
8:45-3:30pm Work, work, work and try to find joy where I can in the children I am so blessed to work with. Children with disabilities that I am so lucky to witness & work with on a daily basis. Their ability to work despite their limitations teaches me a lesson in perseverance.
My coworker asks my girl Hope, "Who do you love?"
She answers, "Cunnin-ham".
Warms my heart.
3:30pm In my car, rocking to Tim McGraw, driving home to my boys.
5:00pm Making dinner with my sweetheart, our two adorable babies playing with each other in the living room or kitchen, bringing us joy.
5:30pm As of this week, we are eating dinner all together as a family. And I can't help but feel proud of us for making that happen.
6:30pm Bath time for the boys. Josh usually bathes them and I tidy up. Do dishes, laundry & put away toys.
7:00pm Kiss the boys good-night.
7:00-8:00pm Watch The Office for my daily dose of laughter.
8:00pm Check e-mail, Facebook & Blogger for life updates.
9:30pm Pray for the boys in their room, my sanctuary. Sometimes scoop them up & rock them, other times just stand over their crib & hold their hands while I pray.
10:00pm Hit the sack praying for a full nights sleep before I begin all over again tomorrow!
