Blasty

One year ago today we found out we were expecting this little one.
That day Josh sent me one text
"Do you wonder what it is? Our little Blasty?"

We referred to the twins as "blasty" because I was reading all about fetal development and told Josh about the blastocyst phase.  He glommed on to that, calling the baby blasty. (Little did we know that we had two blasties!) So the tradition carried on with Wyatt.

I thought for sure it was a girl until I climbed onto that table for an ultrasound at 19 weeks and they told us it was a boy. In that moment, I knew that was right. I wasn't disappointed, surprisingly. Instead I felt excited. I felt joy at the thought of my three sons camping, my three sons riding bikes, my three sons playing football together. I also felt excited for Logan & Jack that they would have the opportunity to experience a brother who is not a twin.

Now that sweet little blasty is nearly four months old.  He is a little blessed cherub, whom I adore, and am so grateful for.  In one week his Daddy will get to see him again.

Last time he saw Wyatt, he was seven weeks old. And oh-so-tiny.  I can't wait for Josh to see his smile, hear his giggle and hold our beautiful growing boy.
