Seeing... my counselor for the last time. She's deploying to Africa for 6 months. It makes me so sad. I've been seeing her for four years (usually every other week) and going six months without seeing her freaks me out.
I will try to see another counselor in the meantime, but starting over with someone new feels daunting.
Laughing... at how the adults in our house load the dishwasher, versus the children in our house.
Loving... our routine of cleaning house on Sundays. And also loving the kittens stretching out in the window sill to soak up the sunshine.
Sending... Josh to Kennewick with his brother to pick up a tractor for the project they'll be working on over spring break- digging up gravel from the pit on his mom's land and spreading it over the drive and parking lot.
Riding... along to pick Wyatt up in Quincy after a weekend with his cousins. Jack drove, and it was lovely to just be. We drove along, beautiful blue skies and fields turning green...
Happy... that Logan spend the afternoon playing baseball with his friends Easton & Channing. They've been friends since we moved here in 2016 and that makes my heart swell.
Preparing... returns for Amazon & Walmart, a chore that always makes me feel like a grown up.
Sparkling... when the sun hits my new crystal that hangs from my rearview mirror. It sends tiny rainbows all over the car. I ordered it on Amazon, and it makes me so happy everyday!
Feeling... a little silly at how shocked and shaken I was the announcement of Jordan Page's divorce from her husband Bubba. I am so sad for them. And their 8 kids.
Celebrating... my sister's birthday with a little post on Facebook. I am so grateful for that girl, I don't know where I'd be without her. (My guess? Locked up in an insane asylum somewhere. Hah!)
Teaching... science at school, which was fun this month. We discussed the sun (how it impacts the earth) and in relation to that, we discussed the sizes of the planets and how being closer to or further away from the sun would mean no life could exist on earth. The kids were so great during the discussion.
Calling... Carly a wiggle worm as she could not.stop.moving during her eye glasses fitting this week. She is also a major wiggle worm when we do her math flashcards. It's crazy. This week she did one session of flashcards upside down on the rocking chair.
Enjoying... my coffee in the mornings. I use vanilla caramel creamer in instant Folgers and I'm a happy camper.
Taking... Logan on his final (state) drive. He passed (!!!) and that means that when he turns 16 (in June) he can just walk into the DMV and get his license. (As long as he gets a 3.0- that's our family requirement, both because driving is good motivation for getting good grades and because it gets us a discount on insurance!)
Having... my mom pick Carly up during one of the early release days and feeling terrible that she found out on the drive over that her dog Ruby died. My mom was so sweet and brought Carly a new fleece bathrobe as she had outgrown her old one. She's barely taken off the thing since receiving it.
Grateful... that Josh was able to stay home from work two days this week to take Carly & Wyatt to the dentist one day and Wyatt to the pulmonologist in Spokane the next. I am even more grateful that at that appointment Wyatt officially graduated from pediatric pulmonology. His asthma has healed itself. It feels like a miracle. I am so so so grateful.
Attending... an IEP meeting as part of my student teaching and learning so much about the process.
Dealing... with a broken washing machine and feeling so tired of dealing with broken appliances. Between the dishwasher and washing machine, it feels like something is always acting up! We are incredibly hard on our machines!
Impressed... by my friend Kori's art. She is just so dang talented!
Inspired... by how Carly is so easily delighted by life. The smallest things thrill her. This week she dressed up her Barbies in the cutest outfits and then she told me which was which of her best friends. Also inspired by Carly's fashion. She loves to put together the funniest outfits, tying her skirt or shirt to one side, or wearing sweaters upside down. I hope she never loses the confidence that she has.
Solving... technical issues on my laptop all by myself! I felt so proud! Haha!
Attending... parent/teacher conferences as a student teacher and learning so much. I've also been working this week to lesson plan ahead of time so that I don't have to do any work over spring break.
Ready... oh so ready, for spring break. I am looking forward to some rest, reading and relaxing!
Journaling... and catching up on life currently. I try to do it at least every month, if not more often.
Feeling... struck by just how many things Josh and his brother can do. They essentially built Josh's parents house, and can fix just about anything that could go wrong with a car, and now this week they are digging rocks out of the pit and laying the gravel as a fresh driveway since we ended up with so much mud this spring. There's truly nothing they can't do.
Watching... scary movies with Wyatt every weekend. I used to hate scary movies, but I have been (surprisingly) enjoying watching them with him. My favorite so far is The Quiet Place II. It was so well done.
Driving... Jack to get McDonald's and dropping some off for his best friend Ainsley. Jack delivered it by climbing in Ainsley's window and climbing back out Ainsley's window. I was laughing so hard as he fell out of the window and the dirt fluffed up around him on the ground. Boys are so ridiculous and hilarious.
Raising... readers by buying books every chance I get for my nieces & nephews. I didn't want to buy multiple of the same board books for Sweet P's birthday, so my sister sent me a pic of all the books they have. It might be one of my favorite pics of Sweet P.
Attending... Sweet P's birthday party at the park on Saturday and enjoying the sun and company so much! Carly and the other kids played a lot at the park, and I got to hold Roxanne's friend Allie's bunny! Oh she was so sweet, mellow and soft! I have always wanted a bunny and this made me want one even more!
Thankful... for the adorable book vase I asked my mom and sister to look for at Target. They each ended up searching and purchasing me one (haha!) so now I have one to use as a vase, and one to use as a bookmark holder. They are so cute! I love them!
