good friday

No, not that Good Friday, just a good friday.
And that's enough to put a smile on my face.

Today:
  •  The baby slept last night from 11 to 3:30am, which is very good for how sick he is. And this mama slept the whole time.
  •
  • Josh called out of the blue this morning and invited the boys and I to come watch the girls' junior high basketball game at 10:00. So I readied the boys and myself in record time and we trekked over to the school. I haven't been outside in the morning here, well, ever.  We always go in the afternoon so it's the warmest it will be.The morning light is different, lovely, and so I enjoyed our walk.
  •
  • At the tournament I met the parent of one of Josh's students, and she was so warm & welcoming. She hugged me and said she was so glad to meet me. That was the first hug I've had from someone beside Josh or the boys since I got here.  She gushed over the boys, which any mother loves, and held Wyatt for the longest time, squeezing his sweet baby thighs, telling me how her youngest had thighs like that.  She didn't crawl until she was ten months old, and didn't walk until 16 months.  That made me feel better about our little butterball.

  • All three kids napped long enough for me to eat my lunch, watch a bit of a movie, and text Carol.
  •
  • I texted Carol and we plan to talk this weekend about the deets of their trip. They will be here in ONE WEEK!

  • I got to go on a walk, all by myself (well... I was wearing Wyatt, but he was asleep), outside, and it was gorgeous.  I walked up the airport road and from there, you can see so far. I can't even imagine how far it must be.  The sky so clear, the air so fresh, the snow so sparkly.  It was so invigorating.  (Since we are calling this post "good friday" I won't mention that it started as a family walk, but Jack peed his pants-in all his snow gear- and shortly after Josh took Jack inside to change him Logan needed to pee as well, so I dropped him at the door and Josh sent me on my walk alone. I was so grateful. He's such a good man.) I stayed out on my walk for a half hour, and when I came inside told Josh how wonderful the weather was.  It was only 11 degrees, but it didn't even feel cold! The sun shining down, blue skies as far as the eye could see. Can you tell I enjoyed it?!?
  •
  • While on my walk, every car, truck, snowmobile and fourwheeler driver that passed waved at me.  I love that.  One guy even asked if I needed a ride.  I told him no thank you. I was just walking. For fun.

  • I was called "ma'am", which wasn't technically good, but it was said while being handed the glasses we ordered from Amazon after I broke one of the only four we had.  (I prefer being called "miss"-just so we're clear.) And when I opened the glasses- every single one had survived the trip North! Hooray!
  •
  • I took this picture of Wyatt and I before we left for the game this morning, and when I uploaded it this afternoon, I was uber happy with how long my hair is getting! It must be that bottle of prenatal vitamins I am finishing up.  Makes me super excited!

  • We think Logan has scabies. It's very common in the village, unfortunately. He likely picked it up playing in the gym, on the bleachers or from another little who had it.  Him having scabies isn't the good news. The good news is that Mary's friend Colleen gets in today (or maybe it's tomorrow) and she's a health aide of some sort, and Josh says she will look at it for us.
  •
  • And the best part of my Friday is yet to come... It's date night, which means pizza, soda & a movie with my hubby!  All three kids are {finally!} asleep, so I am off.

Happy weekending!

My kids and I looked through your blog this morning. They are obsessed with Alaska because of the Iditarod. They think it's SO cool that Jack and Logan get to live there! I love all your beautiful pictures in the snow!

I had scabies in college. It can be miserable, because scratching doesn't help. When you see a doctor, make sure you get the ointment and NOT THE TABLET. The pill does nothing but make everything red. The ointment goes on right after a shower when the pores are open. After a few days, it started feeling immediately better.
Those little bugs were the worst at night.
My scabies started between my fingers, then spread to my wrists, and then my shins!
I hope for a swift recovery for the little one!
