Last school year our three boys earned free tickets to Silverwood (a theme park in Idaho) for doing 600 minutes of reading and as summer came to a close, we knew we needed to hustle & get them there before their tickets expired. We opted for Labor Day and I am so glad we went!!
We went on some roller coasters, and generally agree that they aren't for us. Jack found he doesn't have a thrill seeking side, whereas Logan found he does! He went on Panic Plunge like four times!!! Josh also went on Panic Plunge.
We also loved the ferris wheel, the bumper boats & most of all, the log ride. Our whole family was able to go on the log ride (three in each boat) and that was really special. On the suggestion of a friend who had visited Silverwood before (hi Angie!), we went to the magic show and all the kids were entertained. Carly sat and watched the entire thing! While you're there, you can order pizza and eat while you watch. Super fun!
We had lunch at the Country BBQ & the food was totally reasonably priced (less than $10/person for chicken strips, fries & a drink) and the ice cream we had for snack was $5 each, but the sizes were INSANE! We told the boys that next year they could save up some of their own money to spend on carnival games, which they wanted to play, but we said no this year.
It was a really fun day spent together making memories and it was a really lovely way to end the summer. I hope they can earn the tickets again this year so we can go back next summer.

Love all these smiles. I think you need to take Josh to the theme park every year! He looks so happy!
