Delphi was a really neat place to visit that I don't remember ever hearing about before this trip. Delphi was the seat of major religion during 6th century BC. It is called the navel of the world, and similar to Muslim's who try at least once in their life to go to Mecca, Greeks tried to go to Delphi at least once in their lifetime to see the museum of statues; get their fortune told by the Oracle, and worship god Apollo among others.
At the rest stop I saw these chips that looked similar to Wheat Thin chips, so I gave them a try. They were so good!
We stopped at this bus turnaround for pictures. It was so beautiful.
Just can't even tell you how much I love these kids.
Jack was amazing the whole time letting me get pics of him, of us.
Best kid ever.
Okay the most surprising part about Delphi was all the feral cats everywhere. They were really sweet, surprisingly and so cute!
Our tour guide was really passionate about Delphi, you could tell, and I learned a lot from her.
You have to zoom in, but this tells us (in Greek) that a statue of the god Apollo used to sit atop this.
Panoramic.
I can see why they thought it was the center of the world.
It's stunning.
Can't you just see a little kid playing with the horses?
The whole museum was amazing.
(Okay, and air conditioned, which might have helped me love it more.)
This picuture nearly got us kicked out. I didn't know there were people in every room just watching the artifacts and protecting them. She said "No lewd poses!" Haha! oops!
These girls are just the sweetest, funniest, most kind people you will ever meet.
They make me so excited for Carly to be a teenager.
(But not too soon!)
After Delphi, we went to this restaurant that had the most amazing authentic Greek food. I ordered the variety platter and it was so good, I didn't even take a picture! I just dug in and kept eating until I thought I would burst. I couldn't finish it all, which made me sad because it was so good!
Delphi (and the restaurant) both get big thumbs up from me. What an amazing day!
