At the park today, playing with my two 2-year-olds, I met another mom, Chloe. She had two little ones as well. Her son was three, and her daughter turned two yesterday, same as Logan & Jack. In fact, they not only share a birthday, they were all born at the same hospital, too!
As we stood around the bark chips, watching our children run & squeal & play, delighted for the rain to be gone, we got to talking. She told me all about being a stay-at-home mom, which she has only been for a year. It was so nice to talk to another mom who has been through the working/running a house/being a wife/being a mommy routine craziness that I am currently living.
She said that being a stay-at-home mom the last year has been a dream come true. She said money has been tight, and it's the most work she's ever done, but she also said it has been more rewarding than any other job could possibly be.
It was so refreshing to talk to another mom who loves being with her kids. Another mom who knows how much work it is, and believes it's worth the effort. I sometimes second guess my desire to be a stay-at-home mom. I sometimes think that I could provide more for the boys if I worked in addition to Josh working. Then I run into someone like Chloe and God takes a moment to remind me that it's okay to want to be with my children.
Between my conversation with Chloe about parenting, the fact that I'm home from work today to take the boys to their two-year well-child checkup, and the lack of rain, I am flying high! I am so happy to be feeling more positive. Now if we would just hear back on Josh's interview today! That would be the icing on the cake.

I hope you guys do hear something back from Josh's interview soon too! I love being a stay at home mommy for sure! I would love to work so money wouldnt be so tight, but I dont think I ever could if I got an offer somewhere. You are such an awesome mom, & those boys are so lucky to have you. When its your time to stay home, you will love it.
I am glad you guys got outside today. I know we did, & it was super nice not having the rain.
We still need to get together one of these days. Maybe when it gets warmer out, you & the boys could come over & play out back & try out Landons new pool =)
I'm glad you're feeling good about things! You can never go wrong if you're following your heart!
I don't really think of myself as a S@HM since Blake is home, too (maybe once he starts school f/t that will change.) All I know is I love being with Ferris all day, and I'd sacrifice anything to do so.
I think you'll adjust easily into being home with your boys. I'm excited for you. I think it will relax you, and you'll have less weight on your shoulders. And we can hang out more!
Follow your heart and know that you are doing a fantastic job with your family. Yes it is hard work and you may not be able to afford all that you want to give them but what you ARE giving them is so much more rewarding for you and them.
I loved seeing all of your girls together and a houseful of happy WELL ADJUSTED boys. This is the rewards of motherhood...later in life you see your own hard work come to fruition through your own kids as a GRANDMOTHER!
