Wyatt Photo Overload

This sweet guy is ten months old today.

Happy, funny & a little bit spoiled,

 we {adore} him!

His blue eyes, his chubby cheeks, his chunky leg rolls...

 all make us smile!

He can sit up, keep himself from falling over (most of the time!) and can get from his belly to a sitting position (most of the time!) but isn't crawling just yet.

He loves Cheerios, graham crackers & all baby food.
He eats great & still nurses about five times per 24 hour period.

He is sleeping at night, usually about eleven hours at a stretch, and while this is great, I've seen a decrease in good daytime sleep.  His morning nap should be about an hour & a half, but some days it's only 40 minutes.  Same with afternoon naps.

He's teething all four top teeth right now,
and I am hopeful that once they are all settled into place
he will get in a better daytime sleep rhythm.

He loves to play in the playroom with is brothers.
And he hates being left alone anywhere.
He cuh-ries (!!!) when Mommy leaves the room.

He is still doing his famous "butt-scoot" to get across the room. It's not fast, it's just a little pelvic thrust here, a little pelvic thrust there, and pretty soon he's made his way towards whatever he had set his sights on.

He almost always falls asleep when I am wearing him in the Ergo.
He loves to snuggle in and doze as his brothers play out in the cold snow.

He makes these heart warming cooing sounds that melt me to bits as he sleeps.
I love it.

I am still cloth diapering, using BumGenius, and most of the time, I don't even think about it. It's become part of my daily life.  About every three days I throw a load in the wash.  And how that he's on solid food, I tend to just dump the contents of his diapers in the toilet, and then put the diaper in my wet bag.

When we go home for the summer, though, I plan to use disposables, and I'm excited for the break!

Nursing has become more painful since the arrival of his top teeth.  I talked to Kori, my nursing guru, and she assures me that after a little more time, it will improve.  He hasn't bit me (yet) with chompers on top and on bottom, and I am praying he doesn't!
I thought for a while I would wean him down, starting last month, and be finished nursing by his first birthday, but now I'm not sure.  I am happy we are down to once a night, before naps & bedtime and the occasional afternoon snack.  And so for now the plan is to follow his lead.

He has the greatest laugh and the four of us would do just about anything to make him giggle!
Honestly, it doesn't take much!

He loves bath time- wiggles his legs like mad as you lower him into his seat.  Then he closes his eyes tight & SPLASHES his chubby fists in the water, spraying water everywhere.  He especially loves the sprayer we have, and likes to try and grab the water.

He has signed "more" a handful of times, and seems to know what it means when we say or sign it, but he doesn't do it consistently.  If he's too hungry, or not hungry enough, he won't do it.  He's a little character!

He is sort of the same way about clapping.  He can clap, but he doesn't do it consistently.  Some days all I have to say is "Yay!" in my super exciting cheerleader voice and he'll start clapping.  Other days Logan, Jack and myself can be in a semi-circle around him clapping and shouting hooray and still he won't do it!

We are working on "bye bye" when Josh leaves for work.  I can't wait until his doughy little fingers extend up & down to wave.  So scrumptious!

He loves his brothers.  Holy moly.  He loves to watch them play, interact with them, and share their awesome toys.  When he wakes up from naps and they are still asleep, he will look longingly up the staircase like, "Where are you?" And then when they finally start coming down, he does what we call "pelvic thrusties" where he almost boogies his way out of your arms towards the boys.  It's so precious.

He also has dance moves.  We can say, "Get the moves, Wyatt, get the moves!" and he will start to dance and boogie and shake. It's hilarious!

In addition to his brothers, he also loves his daddy.  When Josh walks in, Wyatt will follow him with his eyes until Josh makes eye contact and then his whole face lights up.  Josh plays a game with him where whatever noise/body movement Wyatt does, Josh will copy, and it cracks Wyatt up.  He will get laughing so hard that his body is shaking when they play it.  I love to watch.

And as much as he loves his daddy & brothers, I like to think he loves me best! He squeals with delight when I go in to get him out of his crib, he loves to play peek-a-boo while I change him, loves to giggle when I kiss his neck and tickle his chubs, and looks lovingly into my eyes as we nurse each day.  He is my precious pudding pie, and I so love being the apple of his eye.

Another little trick he has is "popping" his binky out.  The boys or I will put it in, and if he doesn't feel like having it in, he will puff up his cheeks and "POP" it out of his mouth, usually across the room.  He will also use his hands.  He'll reach up, yank it out and then throw it (with quite a bit of force) away from him if he doesn't want it in.  He's got such personality!

I am sad that the time is going so quickly.  I can't believe he is ten months old already.  He is in 18 month clothes and I can't wait to get home and get him a few more things in his size.  Especially some summer outfits that will proudly display his breastfed baby thighs!
But I am happy to say that I haven't wasted a moment of his life.  I have held him, rocked him, loved him and cherished him every single day since he joined our family back in June. I feel so lucky to say I have been with him for every moment.
For that, and for him, I am very grateful.
I love you, little Super Wy.
I love you very, very much.

Tear...All I can think about is Amelia and how fast SHE is growing. 10 months, 2 months away from a whole year old...congrats on the breastfeeding!

Oh my gosh I just LOVE him! Such a cutie! I wanted to let you know that Noah didn't crawl either and did the butt scoot thing you described. Never crawled. Not even once. I had everyone telling me he would be dumb if he didn't crawl. Not true! I bet he'll get his butt scoot down pat and then go straight to walking. Just wanted to share in case you're worried about it...he's fine! :o)

I love all the pictures! I was going to list my favorite ones, but they're all so adorable! The one with his bottom lip out and the one with the toy hanging out of his mouth...CUTE! It's such a fun stage when they think everything we do is hilarious! I love that he dances like Isaac does. Maybe they can put on a show when you're here :)

He's adorable! And on nursing, I let my kids go until their birthday and then we slowly started weaning. Reggie was done at 14months and Penny at 15. I got bit by both. It hurts! So fingers crossed Wyatt doesn't get you!
