I didn't realize until I got here just how many books I had collected.  Many of these were sent by friends & followers, others were gathered over the summer in hopes that they would bring me cheer during the long, dark months here in Alaska.

Today the sunrise wasn't until 9:01am.  Our high for the day is 37 degrees.  Those long, dark days are here.  So yesterday morning I gathered all my books up for a quick photo shoot.  I cannot tell you the happiness they brought me, sitting together in the sunlight smiling at me.

In addition to these books, and the future joy they hold, I am also excited about reading this week because I was invited by a friend to join her online book club. I have never been in a book club before, and I am very excited about it!

"Books are the bees which carry the quickening pollen from one to another mind."
-James Russell Lowell

Do you have a local library or book swap in your neck of the woods?

No library except the small one at the school, and no book exchange either. I just make sure to hit up Goodwill & Target to stock up before we fly out!

LOVE this post. LOVE books! LOVE your pictures. I have a terrible habit of buying books!!! Not only adult books but kid's books in hopes that SOMEDAY I will have grandchildren. I buy them from resale stores and garage sales, something you don't have the convenience of. I also have the Kindle app on my Ipad so am trying to wean down books I have in print. I have more books here that I will probably never read as well as lots more on my IPad,I will never get too. I just love having books!!!

I love books, and have actually felt panicky if I don't have one to read and one waiting to be read.
I should reread some of my favorites because now that I'm older my perspective is different.
I love your choices in books. That makes it fun to choose for you and fun when you send me yours!
