For Christmas, the boys got a box of geodes in their stockings. We used old socks and daddy's strong hammer to try and crack those bad boys open. It was really hard work, and we ended up going outside to pound some of the more challenging ones open. It was a fun experiment and lesson in geology for the boys from their rock-loving mama. I always say that if I went back to college, I'd go to become a geologist. Perhaps I can pass on my rock-nerdiness to my children.
