One of the days Josh was home back in October, we decided to head to the coast to see my grandparents. The boys were excited to get to the beach after a few months away. It was a gorgeous day, and it felt so good to see my grandparents.
While I was there I had the opportunity (read: Josh took the kids to the park) to talk to my grandma about our ancestry, and my grandpa about being drafted during the Korean War.

Grandpa showed me all the pictures he had taken while he was stationed in Germany during the Korean War. There was still a lot of devastation from World War 2.
I feel so blessed that both my grandparents are alive and I can pick their brains about life in the good ol' days, our ancestors & their personal stories. It's one of my favorite past times.

Looking at that old picture of Grandma, I can see her in you - in the mouth/smile. How neat I've never noticed that before!
